Sleepers are often hard to predict, but they happen in every NFL draft. Running backs always lend themselves to surprises with plenty of mid round and undrafted players emerging as fantasy stars over the past decade. The right system fit and opportunity often mean more than first round talent. Joe Williams of the San Francisco 49ers and Samaje Perine of the Washington Redskins are among the less heralded backs positioned to make a run at touches.

While much publicized concussions and head injuries account for some of the problems, they’re just one possible hardship of many for those who spend years slamming into each other at full speed. NFL Special SituationsIn some instances, NFL quarterbacks coaches can make more money than is typical for their position.
